2018 Viognier Santa Barbara County

Our Bridlewood Santa Barbara County Reserve Viognier is a vibrant light straw color. Aromas of orange blossom and candied tangerine dominate the bouquet while notes of mandarin zest and a brisk lemon-lime acidity brightens the palate. The finish is clean, yet subtly textured (as only serious Viognier can be). Heady aromatics match well with heavily spiced foods, such as Moroccan tagines, Caribbean Jerk chicken and even causal street tacos.

Wine Tips:

This year we sourced the Viognier from two exceptional sites in the Santa Ynez and Santa Maria Valleys. The 2018 growing season in Santa Barbara County started very slowly with a very cool spring, delaying the onset of harvest by up to two weeks. To take advantage of the full spectrum of flavors this unique variety has to offer, we carefully hand tended the vines and hand harvested the fruit in three separate batches between September 26 and October 30.
